We Invite You to Celebrate National Learn to Row Day, the first Saturday in June each year!
Sagamore Rowing Association is pleased to partner with USRowing and Concept 2 in celebrating the 18th annual National Learn to Row Day on the first Saturday in June from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Boat clubs all over the country including several throughout Nassau and Suffolk will be participating in this free event highlighting USRowing’s commitment to “national awareness for learning to row”. Sagamore’s motto “building Long Island’s rowing tradition” has been going strong for over four decades. Sagamore has been the home of State, National, Olympic and World Champions, as well as scores of rowers who just like to mess around in boats. At all levels, Sagamore rowers and coaches want to share their love of the sport with you!
Sagamore will host an open house featuring learn to row events for athletes, athletes to be, and the mildly curious in a fun and lively environment. Members of the community are invited to tour the boathouse and indulge in a snack or two. Individuals over 12 are welcome to participate in a learn to row session with one of Sagamore’s experienced and inspiring coaches. Sagamore’s hands on introduction to rowing uses Concept 2 machines, a fleet of super stable training boats as well as larger boats which may be supported by pontoons that act like training wheels to build confidence and maximize fun.
Pre-registration is preferred on Sagamore’s Regatta Central page under Programs.
